Closku adds photo-based virtual try-on to Shopify clothing product pages. Import your product catalog by CSV, add the Closku storefront script, and connect the product identifiers. Shoppers can preview a garment using their photo. Current setup does not provide live catalog sync or a Shopify App Store installation.

What shoppers do on the product page
The shopper opens the try-on widget, supplies their photo, and receives a generated clothing preview. Keep the original product photography, size chart, fabric details, and return policy alongside the experience. A visual preview is not a guarantee of real-world fit, color, or fabric behavior.
Sizing advice and visual try-on serve different purposes. Closku does not currently provide automated size recommendations; read the sizing versus try-on guide for that distinction. See the simulated walkthrough for the interface rather than treating it as a live production test.
Prerequisites for Shopify setup
- A Closku merchant workspace with an active plan and an imported clothing catalog.
- Access to export Shopify products and edit an unpublished copy of your theme.
- Reachable garment image URLs and a person responsible for reviewing variants.
- The exact allowed storefront origins, arranged with Closku support if your workspace has no domain editor.
- A mapping from each selected storefront product to its Closku catalog product ID.
A theme integration needs engineering attention if your storefront changes product content without a full page load, uses quick-view modals, or renders custom product forms. Verify those contexts individually before expanding beyond a standard product page.
Export and review the catalog
In Shopify admin, open Products, choose Export, and begin with a selected product or a small filtered assortment. Shopify's official export instructions explain the export options and how image URLs remain accessible.
Closku's Shopify import reads Handle, Title, Variant SKU, Image Src, Status, and recognized color/size option columns. Review the preview before import: confirm the correct images, active status, and actual color/size combinations. Do not assume every Shopify option type or unavailable variant is represented automatically. The import accepts up to four garment image URLs per product.
After import, inspect the product in your Closku workspace and record its Closku product ID. A Shopify product ID, Shopify variant ID, or SKU is not interchangeable with that ID. Catalog operations are documented in the catalog management guide.
Install the script and connect the garment
- Copy the install line from Your Widget in the Closku workspace.
- Add that line once, before the closing body tag in the unpublished theme's layout.
- Place the correct Closku product ID in a
data-product-idelement on the selected product page. - Configure the exact preview and live storefront origins you intend to test.
The script can look for product forms, but a native Shopify form identifier can reference a Shopify variant rather than a Closku garment. Explicit product mapping avoids relying on that fallback. Use the theme walkthrough for a controlled snippet and placement example.
Test one product before publishing
In the unpublished theme preview or an isolated staging storefront, check the widget button, correct garment selection, and mobile layout first. A full production render can consume plan allowance; use an approved test merchant for that step. Use your own photo or a photo you have permission to upload.
- Verify that the configured domain matches the actual browser origin, including any preview hostname.
- Confirm the garment is active and has the expected image in Closku.
- Check that try-on does not submit or interfere with Shopify's cart form.
- Test close/reopen, mobile scrolling, and each product context you plan to support.
- Publish the reviewed theme only after the selected product's workflow is verified.
If the widget does not load, inspect the script request and the configured store domain. If the wrong product appears, recheck the Closku ID mapping rather than changing the garment image at random. See troubleshooting.
Catalog updates, pricing, and the next step
Keep the Closku catalog current when garments, images, or variants change. Review existing products before importing again; treat an import as catalog creation unless you have confirmed the update behavior, and avoid creating duplicates. Closku does not automatically sync Shopify changes.
